Job Description: President | Executive Vice President (EVP)
Training
Training for you and your board is provided in multiple ways that includes Spring small group transition sessions, an August Fall Kick-off in-person set of training workshops for most positions, online materials provided on this website, 4th district Spring and Fall training, state training at Convention, monthly state training webinars, monthly newsletters, weekly emails, Signal Chat groups, CAPTA Toolkit, and the CAPTA Leadership Website. Council board members will reach out to your unit board members for guidance and assistance when requested, so it is important you have provided their contact info on myPTEZ as soon as they are elected. Each council board member may have their own specifics/style on how they will support each of your board member positions. Please make sure your board members are aware of what training is available and that they establish a relationship with their appropriate council support board member.

- BOUNDARIES: You respect my boundaries, and when you’re not clear about what’s okay and not okay, you ask. You’re willing to say no.
- RELIABILITY: You do what you say you’ll do. This means staying aware of your competencies and limitations so you don’t overpromise and are able to deliver on commitments and balance competing priorities.
- ACCOUNTABILITY: You own your mistakes, apologize, and make amends. VAULT: You don’t share information or experiences that are not yours to share. I need to know that my confidences are kept, and that you’re not sharing with me any information about other people that should be confidential.
- INTEGRITY: You choose courage over comfort. You choose what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy. And you choose to practice your values rather than simply professing them.
- NONJUDGMENT: I can ask for what I need, and you can ask for what you need. We can talk about how we feel without judgment.
- GENEROSITY: You extend the most generous interpretation possible to the intentions, words, and actions of others.

*High schools also receive a grant from the City of Irvine for Grad Night for $7,000. It is then distributed by IUCPTA according to their current board’s approved calculation. High schools also are the only recipients of IUCPTA’s HS Scholarship (currently $500 each) so you can take out that amount for elementary/middle schools. As council’s budget changes, these numbers change. However, it gives one a good idea of how assessment funds are currently invested in units.
